VALD Comes to FTP

Next time you come into the clinic, you might notice some new equipment: VALD ForceDecks and a VALD Dynamo. First and foremost, we invested in this equipment because VALD’s main goal is to make your physical therapy and rehabilitation journey as accessible as possible through clear, objective data tracked with their equipment.

We know everyone appreciates numbers, and that’s what VALD equipment provides.

With the ForceDecks, we’ll be able to test strength, power, movement, balance, and asymmetry. You might stand on one foot on the decks, you might jump up and down, you might do push-ups… the options are almost endless! The same goes for the Dynamo, though the movements— all nearly 300 of them— are slightly different. For both, as soon as you start an exercise, the app detects and interprets your movement into data that is easy to understand and measure. Your physical therapist will instruct you on a movement— just like in a normal appointment— you’ll do it on the decks or using the Dynamo, and then your results will automatically populate to your profile, which you can access on VALD’s app.

With these results, you’ll be able to clearly see your progress over time and have a really tangible picture of your recovery.

Additionally, we now have access to data from all over the world of people in your demographic and sport, so we can give you a measurable goal to work toward if you want to continue on to the next level of play. (This is especially useful for our high school patients looking to continue playing their sport in college!)

Because our ultimate priority is you, we want you to get the most possible out of your appointments here, and we believe these new tools will be helpful in that.

With VALD’s equipment and database and our physical therapy knowledge, you will gain invaluable information about your level of recovery and open doors to achieve even higher than you thought possible.

This video will give you a little more information about what VALD is, as well as the mentality behind some of their equipment.
