• No! Georgia’s physical therapy practice act allows for direct access with provisions.

In short, you can come in without a physician’s referral for PT for 8 visits or 21 days, whichever comes first.

If you need help acquiring a referral for care beyond that timeline, we are happy to help you!

  • We call this the “gather information” day. Expect your physical therapist to take you through a thorough evaluation of your current problem, in-depth education about the root cause of your symptoms.

This is also a time for your physical therapist to prescribe a targeted exercise protocol as well as perform any hands-on therapy that may be indicated (dry needling, cupping, massage, joint mobilization, etc.)

  • Yes!

  • Current insurance stipulations within in-network physical therapy often lead to a few common issues:

    • Shorter visits,

    • Double booking (sharing a treatment with another patient),

    • Suboptimal care provided by support staff, not the Doctor of physical therapy,

    • Quality and duration of care dictated by the insurance company, not your healthcare provider.

We believe you deserve a better experience and results, thus we have opted out of any contract with insurance.

  • It depends on your insurance company. Nearly all insurances, with the exception of Medicare and Medicaid will provide some reimbursement for services that are considered "out of network" depending on your plan.

It is beneficial to get in touch with your insurance company and find out if you have "out of network benefits" for physical therapy and what the coverage reimbursement rate is. If your plan allows for out of network coverage, we can provide you with a "superbill" or receipt for the services at Fine Tuned Performance, which you would submit to your insurance.

  • Unfortunately, federal payers such as Medicare and Medicaid require that any enrolled patient abstain from utilizing non-participating rehab providers.

We are however able to provide wellness/training based visits that would not qualify as a rehabilitative service.
